Mona Island Lighthouse
Mona island is an uninhabited island 47 miles off the shores of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Mona Island is an ecological nature reserve. It was said that Gustav Eiffel designed and built the lighthouse at Mona Island; but in reality Rafael Ravena developed the initial plans. The Mona Island lighthouse is a historic lighthouse and the only one built with iron and steel. It is listed in the Lighthouse Digest Doomsday List of endangered lighthouses.
